As I was going through UE4 C++ courses made by Skillbox online school, I had the opportunity to enter Skillbox’s game development online incubator under the name of Gamebox. In order to enter it, I had to make a simple game to prove my skills and project dedication. That’s how Space Pirate was started.

In the span of the week, I’ve made a small, repetitive, and a bit challenging top-down action shooter about a space pirate breaking into the space bank and shooting off the space cops! The game featured different unique enemies, from super-speedy ones to elite ones and the boss cop! In addition to that, you could equip power-ups and ammo after successful kills.

Lucky enough, KeepCalmDoGames game jam was taking place at the same time, so I’ve decided to send Space Pirate on it and write a post-mortem article about it on DTF. I got the prize for the best weekly article!

You can download and play Space Pirate yourself!
