Guacamelee! Games Ported on EGS
DrinkBox Studios
Drinkbox decided that it was a good time to publish Guacamelee! and Guacamelee! 2 on the Epic Games Store, especially given the fact that the Store’s Summer Event was right around the corner. Therefore, I was assigned to modify the Guacamelee code so it can support the Epic Games SDK and communicate with the EGS backend. Throughout the past couple of months, I’ve written multiple code modifications, mostly callbacks, to ensure a flawless experience for everyone who decides to get legendary Guacs on the Epic Games Store.
Besides the code, together with my colleague Josh we’ve configured store page data, price information, translations, etc. And last but definitely not least, we tested the heck out of these games, so players will have the best possible experience.
This was one of the most interesting tasks at Drinkbox. For some reason, I love tinkering with subsystems like the EGS API. But, to be frank, sometimes it becomes a bit repetitive.
